We first traveled to Nepal in 2013 when thanks to the organization and guidance of Nepal Alternative Treks we experienced an unforgettable visit to the Mustang region of the country. This time, accompanied by friends, we journeyed through the stunning Ruby Valley, up to Borang, Chalish and Sertung.

Since we are not as acclimated to the conditions as our porters and guide, and one of us was traveling with a « Canadian cold », we faced surprises along the way that required of our team a few changes to the plan along the way. Our guide and porters dealt with these situations with care, patience, ingenuity and professionalism. It is clear that we could never have managed the journey without their help. Also, over and above the basic levels of service as guide and porter, the assistance we received with translation, information and education was fantastic and our sharing of life stories was unforgettable.

On the second part of our trip, Nepal Alternative Treks provided us with a driver and jeep to travel with us to Gorkha, Bandipur, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Kathmandu. He was professional and a very safe driver, also providing us with tourist information, translation and general assistance. We were able to travel free of worries, knowing that whatever happened, together with our driver we would be able to work it out! We also enjoyed the sharing of fun experiences along the way.

We can highly recommend Nepal Alternative Treks which provided us with great organization, flexibility, professional and kind assistance. When we spoke with other travelers who were trying to figure out their trip on their own, I had the impression that not only was it much more arduous of an experience for them, but also that beyond the breathtaking scenery, they were missing the best of Nepal which, provided by hiring the services of Nepal Alternative Treks, is contact with the warm, interesting and wonderful Nepalese people.”
