Firstly, the trip starts from Pokhara as the city of Lakes, Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m) will welcome you. From here, the trip heads to Ghandruk on a short drive before starting the trek. Ghandruk, which is the second biggest Gurung village in Nepal. Here, you can enjoy the ethnic culture and traditions of the Gurung people. The first part of the trek takes you to Chhomrong. As you follow the Chhomrong River, the trail heads north to Bamboo village. Then, the trail stretches through Gurung villages and settles at Deurali passing Hinku Cave on the way.

Further, the trek heads to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp with sublime views of the Himalayas. Then, the trail continues west to the Annapurna Base Camp. The final part of the route is a difficult one across moraines and snow. The base camp grants the view of the Annapurna I (8091m) along with other mountains in the Annapurna range. After exploring the base camp, you begin to retrace your path and reach Chhomrong. Then, you head to Jhinu Danda, where you will enjoy the natural hot spring at your last night of trek. Finally, a drive back to Pokhara brings the trip to a close.

Day 1

Drive to Ghandruk

Enjoy a delicious breakfast overlooking the beautiful Annapurna I (8091m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m) from the terrace. Afterward, you’ll pack your bags and embark on a jeep for  two and a half hour road journey towards Ghandruk. You’ll embark on the first day of the trek with gentle climb to Kumrung Danda. We will walk dowhnhill to Kumrung khola then the trail starts to climb through steep stairways towards Chhomrong. Overnight in Chhomrong

Day 2

Trek to Bamboo

After breakfast, you’ll leave Chhomrong village and begin climbing down the stone steps towards Chhomrong Khola. Enjoy the scenic view of the lush forested valley and Gurung settlements en route. Cross the Chhomrong River and begin climbing uphill alongside mule caravan towards Sinuwa village. After enjoying your lunch, you’ll begin trekking along the narrow ridge and cross lush forests en route to Bamboo village. Overnight in Bamboo.

Trek to Deurali

After breakfast, you’ll leave Bamboo village and begin climbing towards the Himalaya Hotel. The scenic trek goes past Dovan and climbs up along the ‘weeping wall’ and a local shrine towards Himalaya. From here, you’ll begin climbing alongside the massive Modi River. The trail climbs over 3,000 meters in altitude and goes past Hinku Cave en route to Deurali village. Overnight in Deurali.

Day 4

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

Leaving Deurali, the trail begins to climb alongside the Modi River and goes past alpine forests. You can witness the neatly decorated stack of rocks en route. The arduous climb goes past an icy cave and into Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m). You can enjoy your lunch enjoying the massive view of Machhapuchhre (6997). Afterward, you’ll begin climbing west and walk almost 3km to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. It may take almost an hour and a half to arrive at the base camp. Upon arrival, you can catch the majestic sight of Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Gangapurna (6454m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). Overnight in ABC.

Day 5

Retrace to Bamboo

The day begins with an exploration of the Annapurna Base Camp. The high altitude region offers a panoramic 360-degree view of entire mountains. You can rejoice in the majestic views of Annapurna massif, Gangapurna, Himalchuli, and Machhapuchhre Peaks. From here, you’ll begin climbing down towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The trail further climbs downstream along the Modi River towards Deurali village and continues to Bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.

Trek to Jhinu

Leaving Bamboo, you’ll begin climbing through lush Bamboo forests and walk along the narrow ridge towards Sinuwa village. Leaving Sinuwa, you’ll begin climbing downhill towards Chhomrong River. The returning trail takes a detour and begins climbing southwest through lush forests and terraced fields towards Chhommrong village. You will have a lunch there then steep downhill to reach Jhinu Danda ( Natural hot spring ). Enjoy whole evening at Natural hot spring.

Trek to Samrung

Best time to visit

Annapurna Base Camp Short Trekking is a 9-day trek. So, you should be very careful choosing the time for the trek. Therefore, the best time for the trek is during Spring and Autumn seasons. In addition, during this time you will be able to travel in a clear sky. Similarly, during this time there is a very little crowd. So, it will also be easy for you to find suitable accommodation for you. Similarly, you will also find a clear view of the surroundings.

The difficulty of this trek

This trek is a moderate-level difficult trek. So, new trekkers also can experience the beauty of this place and enjoy themselves during the trek. However, a guide is highly recommended. This trekking is done at high altitudes so there are a lot of difficulties for trekkers while trekking here but the most common problem is high-altitude sickness. So, you should be fully prepared for that and be careful during the trek. If you are not prepared for the trek and its difficulty, then you will not be able to complete this trek.

Travel insurance

Your travel insurance is very important for your trek. Without it, it will be very difficult for us to take you on our journey. You should always have your insurance with you for any kind of trekking. Most importantly, make sure that your insurance company covers all your injuries, medical expenses, loss of property, etc. Furthermore, make you’re that your insurance policy has covered your trekking over 4000m.

ACAP: NPR. 3000 for foreigners and NPR 1000 for SAARC.

Meals and Accommodation

While you are in Kathmandu we don’t provide you with any meals facility. So, while you are in Kathmandu make sure you make arrangements all by yourself. But, while you are with us on the journey we provide hotel accommodation in Pokhara. Lodge accommodation (twin share basis) during the trekking. Most importantly, we provide meals 3 times a day which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner facility as your wish. Likewise, we also provide food in sufficient quantities.

Fitness and experience requirements

On your 9 days, a short trek to Annapurna Base Camp your walk should be moderate to strenuous. Similarly, you should be passionate about the trek. You should fully dedicate yourself to the trek then only you can complete this short trek. Most importantly, you should not have any kind of health issues. You should be mentally tough. Furthermore, you should have some experience climbing short peaks. Otherwise, even this short trek can get hard for you but you can try. However, a guide is highly recommended.

Climate and weather

The climate and weather of Annapurna Base Camp are mostly cold and cloudy. Therefore, it is very difficult to see the beauty of the surroundings if you go there at the wrong time. So, it is very important to choose the right time. Similarly, the best time to visit this trek and have perfect weather and climate is during the spring and autumn seasons. But, this trek also can be done in monsoon seasons. This season also provides you with perfect weather to trek. So, you can fully enjoy the surroundings.

Safety and security

Annapurna Base Camp is a very high-altitude place. So being safe during the trek is very important. For us, it is also the most important factor during the trek. We completely take care of your people during our trek. During the trek, you are under the supervision of an experienced guide who has a lot of knowledge about the place.  In addition, we also take good care of the belongings of our trekkers. So, you should not worry about your belongings when you are traveling with us. Likewise, the accommodation facility we provide is also very safe for your stay. So, you can fully enjoy yourself.
