The trip starts in Kathmandu, where you take a vehicle and drive north. Leaving the valley, the drive heads along the Trishuli River and reaches Syabru Bensi. From here, the trek begins and continues due east. You will follow the Langtang River and reach Lama Hotel. Then, the trail heads north as you enter the deep parts of the Langtang National Park. Next, the trek takes you past Ghoda Tabela and settles at the Langtang Village.

Then, the next destination on the trek is Kyanjin Gompa. It is one of the oldest monasteries in the valley and houses numerous artifacts and monuments dedicated to Tibetan heritage. As you explore around the village, you also hike to the nearby Tserko Ri (4984m) peak. The top offers a panorama of the Langtang, Phurbi Ghyachu, and Rolwaling ranges. Next, you get on the return trip to Lama Hotel. On the way, you trek past several Tamang villages. Finally, the last part of the trail takes you to Syabru before getting the ride back to Kathmandu.

Also, the trip entails an exploration of the Tamang and ancient Tibetan ethnic settlements. The trip concludes at Kyanjin Gompa, which is the oldest monastery in the valley. All in all, the trek offers all the natural and cultural riches of the Langtang Valley.

Early in the morning, we board a bus and start our drive towards Syabrubensi. As we drive from Kathmandu, we are accompanied by beautiful views of hills and green forests. From Kathmandu, we drive to Syabrubensi. In the evening, you can explore the surroundings of Syabrubensi. Overnight in Syabrubensi.

Trek to Lama Hotel

After breakfast, we start our trek to Lama Hotel. Today, we trek through the dense subtropical forest. Most of the trek is through forests. After trekking for a few hours, we reach Bamboo, a popular stop for trekkers. We continue trekking to Lama Hotel as we trek uphill through the bamboo forest until we reach Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Trek to Langtang Village

After breakfast in Lama Hotel, we will trek to Langtang village today. We start the trek with a slightly steep route, which gradually becomes steeper and tougher. The trail heads through the dense forests as the beautiful view of the Langtang range starts appearing in front of us. We then trek through meadows and cross several bridges to reach Langtang village. We can see the blend of Tibetan and Nepali culture in this village. Overnight in Langtang.

Trek to Kyanjin

Today, we will be trekking to the most important places in the Langtang region – Kyanjin. After breakfast in Langtang Village, we will trek through a small village with stone walls and prayer flags as we ascend the gentle steep up to Kyanjin. Passing Mundu on the way, we will walk to Kyanjin. We get enough time to roam around the village after reaching there. Overnight in Kyanjin.

We allocate a full day to explore the Kyanjin village and Langtang area. In Kyanjin, we explore the nearby Kyanjin Gompa. You can hike to the nearby Tserko Ri (4884m) and enjoy the beautiful view of the valley, including the mountains that surround the valley like Mt. Langtang (7227m) and its ranges. You can also interact with the locals and understand their lifestyle. Also, you can also hike to Langshisha Kharka and visit the local cheese factory. Overnight in Kyanjin.

Trek down to Lama Hotel

After breakfast, we start our journey towards the Lama Hotel. Then, we retrace the same route we trekked before. Today’s trek is relatively easier than the earlier days. We trek down through the rhododendron forests, enjoying the beautiful scenes. We come across small Tamang settlements as we descend to Lama Hotel. On the way, we can stop at various places and take photographs before reaching Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Trek to Syabrubensi

On the last day of our trek, we will leave behind the beautiful Langtang region and trek down to Syabrubensi. After breakfast, we start the trek with descent and trek down through the dense forests enjoying the views of Langtang range. We descend to Sherpa Gaon and then continue to trek to Syabrubensi. We will drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubensi the next day. Overnight in Syabrubensi.

Drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we head towards the bus stop to board the bus to Kathmandu. We drive back to Pashang Lhamu Highway through the terraced fields and small settlements. After a while, we will drive along the Trishuli River with a beautiful view of green hills. A short drive of about 5-6 hours brings us to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Dear Tej we had a wonderful time on the Langtang Valley trek during the period of 29 March -5 April 2009 with our guide Dhan and porter Lok, they were very helpful since the very beginning of the trip when we rode local bus from ktm to syabru bensi and until back to Kathmandu again, with them taking care of the Luggage on the bus roof, we can only worry about the bumpy. our guide always choose good lodge and restaurant for us to stay, on the day we went for langshisha Kharka, they both went with us which provide to be good idea because one person had to return half way, escorted by Lok thank you  for such a  great Job!

Best time to visit

The best time to do Langtang Valley Trekking is during the spring and autumn season. During this time of the year the climate, temperature, and weather are stable and suitable in Nepal. Besides, if you travel here during this time of the year you will fully enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Likewise, at this time, you will also get a Panoramic view of the mountains in Langtang, Ganesh, and Gauri Shankar Himal ranges. Therefore, if you travel here during this time then it can double your fun and experience. However, this trek also can be done during the monsoon season.

The difficulty of this trek

The difficulty level of this trek is moderate. However, it’s an 8 days long trek so it can be done by a rookie or new trekker. If you are a new trekker, then you might face the difficulty of altitude sickness. Therefore, an experienced guide is highly recommended. Similarly, you will find some rough roads on your trek. So, make sure you are prepared for that. In addition, this trek tests your stamina so be prepared for that as well.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is very important for any kind of trekking over 4000m. You must have your travel insurance with you. So, make sure your travel insurance company has covered all your safety measures. Make sure that the insurance company provides you with every facility. Because it has a lot of benefits during the trek. Therefore, make sure your travel insurance covers your injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, rescue mission, loss of property, etc. But, most importantly make sure your travel insurance is not expired.

Meals and Accommodation

We provide Lodge with twin share basis accommodation during the trekking. Similarly, all meals include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner during trekking. Likewise, we also provide western and Nepali foods which are very healthy. In addition, the lodges we provide are very secure and comfortable too.

Required Permits

Langtang National Park Fee : NPR. 3000 for foreigners and NPR 1500 for SAARC.

Fitness and experience requirements

Langtang Valley Trek is an 8-day long trek. So, you need to be both physically and mentally fit. In addition, you should have experience climbing small peaks because if you try to climb this peak then it will be difficult for you to complete this trek. So, we recommend you first climb small peaks then come after to climb this peak.in addition, if you decide to do this trek despite your lack of experience then we highly recommend hiring an experienced guide. Furthermore, you should not have any heart and blood-related diseases. Most importantly, you should be very passionate about the trek.

Climate and weather

The temperature of Langtang is mostly, stable and moderate. It is normally 10°C-20°C throughout the year. So, it is suitable throughout the year. Annually, a lot of trekkers trek here. But, the best time you could get to visit here is during the spring and autumn seasons. During this time of the year, you will experience the best climate and weather. Which will help you get the panoramic views of Langtang, Ganesh, and Gauri Shankar Himal ranges.

Safety and security

Langtang Valley Trek is a moderate-level trek, but it can get a little difficult for new trekkers. So, the safety and security of the trekkers are important factors for our company.
