Overview
The 5-day Mohare Danda Trekking commences with a scenic half-day drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Enjoy the 5-6-hour long road journey along the massive Trishuli River. Upon reaching Pokhara, you’ll begin driving west through the Baglung Highway towards Galeshwor. Mohare Danda remains accessible through both Ghorepani and Galeshwor. In this trek, we’ll begin trekking from Galeshwor.
Leaving the Kali Gandaki River, you’ll begin climbing through the lush oak and pine forests towards Bas Kharka. The trail continues to go alongside culturally rich Magar villages towards Nagi. Leaving Nagi, you’ll begin climbing towards Mohare Danda. The exposed hilltop ridge offers a mesmerizing view of the surrounding valleys. Begin trekking downhill to Tipling village via Danda Kharka and Tikot. From Tikot, you head to Pokhara, and the trip concedes upon your return to Kathmandu.
Background
Mohare Danda is a local hill station located in the gorge between two eight-thousander peaks, Annapurna I (8091m) in the East and Dhaulagiri (8163m) in the west. Some of the other famous peaks visible from the top of Mohare Danda are Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Neel Giri (7061m), and Hiunchuli (6441m).
Along the trail, you’ll get to witness the ethnic cultures and lifestyle of Gurung and Magar tribes. Staying with the local families in the community-lodges offers a chance to observe their lifestyle and occupation in-person. Traveler Reviews
We plan to go for a 6days trekking adventure in Nepal and we found out about this excellent travel agent that has been taking care of us since day 1. The travel agent has helped us alot by taking us to find good stuff for the trekking gears and also suggest many tourist spots such as the ancient Bhaktapur and Durbar Square. We are more than thrilled to explore the beauty city of Kathmandu and also Pokhara. Very nice and warm welcome from the people of Nepal and also not forgotten the company agent, Mr Tej Gurung himself always make himself free to join us wih our daily activity before we start our trekking journey with our guide, Mr Dhan. The nice people of Nepal makes me want to come again. Good place to visit and do some trekking.Aisya Rahim

Read MoreWe are a group of 3 having only a short holiday of about 6 days and trekked in Nepal for the first time. We read there would be many tourists in Poon Hill and so we chose the new trek to Mohare Danda in mid-March. We trekked for about 4 days from Galeshwor (1170m) to Banskharka (1526m), Nangi (2320m), to Mohare Danda (3300m), down to Khibang, and then back to Pokhara. The trek was wonderful. With Ammar Gurung as our guide and Dal Gurung and Iman Gurung as our porters (from Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions), we saw beautiful rhododendron, walked in hail and snow in the mountains. On the steep snowy slope, with the help of attentive Ammar, experienced Dal and entertaining Iman, I thought I was flying on the snow! Staying in the community lodges in the mountains, it was freezy cold and it was good the company
