Muldai View Point Trekking starts from the beautiful city of Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region. Pokhara is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning views of the Himalayas, lakes, and waterfalls. The city is easily accessible by road or air from Kathmandu, the capital.
The trek begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, which is the starting point of the trek. From Nayapul, the trail follows the Modi Khola River and passes through beautiful villages, terraced fields, and lush forests.
The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, with several teahouses and lodges along the way. The trek passes through several small villages, including Ghandruk, a popular trekking stop. Ghandruk is a beautiful village located at an altitude of 1,940 meters and is home to the Gurung community. The town offers stunning views of the Annapurna range and is a great place to rest and acclimatize before continuing the trek.
From Ghandruk, the trail climbs to Tadapani, another popular trekking stop. Tadapani is located at an altitude of 2,630 meters and offers stunning views of the Annapurna range. Beautiful rhododendron and oak forests surround the village, and it is a great place to spot local wildlife, including monkeys and birds.
After Tadapani, the trail continues climbing to the Muldai Viewpoint, the highest point of the trek. The viewpoint is located at an altitude of 3,600 meters and offers stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna range, including Annapurna South, Annapurna II, III, IV, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri.

Muldai View Point Trekking Difficulty
The Muldai View Point Trekking is an easy venture that requires a good fitness level. There is no need for prior experience. Thus, the Muldai View Trek is suitable for beginners and seasoned trekkers. During the trek, you must ascend and descend on steep sections on varied terrains. The trail mostly goes through dense forests of rhododendrons, oaks, firs, and alpine meadows.
While on the trek to Muldai Hill, you must walk for 5 to 6 hours, depending on the destination. The highest point is Muldai View Point, which sits at 3,426 meters. Although it is relatively at a lower altitude, there can be a risk of altitude sickness. So, trekkers must take the necessary precautions and acclimatize. You should ascend to higher elevations gradually and stay hydrated.
Preparing for the Muldai View Point Trek a few months prior is best. It is a short trek, but you have to climb uphill and downhill trails. Thus, cardiovascular exercises and training like jogging, running, cycling, and swimming. You can also take strength training, aerobatics, and yoga to build strength, stamina, and endurance for the Muldai View Trek.

Spring (March to May)

There is a minimum chance of rainfall except for occasional rain showers. The temperature at the beginning of spring can drop to -5 degrees Celsius, but as the season progresses, it gradually becomes warmer. The highest temperature during spring is 17 degrees Celsius.
Summer (June to August)
Although summer brings warm weather, it also brings monsoons to Nepal. The landscapes look luscious and vibrant. However, the heavy rainfall causes trails to become wet, muddy, and slippery. There is also the risk of landslides and mudslides. As a result, it is not the best time for Muldai View Point Trekking.
On the bright side, there are few trekkers during summer. The trails are less crowded, and one can enjoy the serene atmosphere. You must prepare suitable equipment and gear for trekking in summer. Also, check the weather forecast before setting off for the journey. The highest temperature during summer can reach 23 degrees Celsius, and the lowest is 4 degrees Celsius.
Autumn (September to November)

Winter (December to February)

However, trekkers have to prepare for harsh weather and low temperatures.
Heavy snowfall occurs in higher regions, and temperatures can drop to freezing. You have to prepare for the extreme weather and adequate gear for the trek in winter. The first day of the Muldai View Point Trekking starts early in the morning with a 2.5-hour journey from Pokhara to Ghandruk. Little villages and terraced fields are passed through during the magnificent drive through Nepal’s picturesque countryside. We would start our journey from Ghandruk toward Tadapani, depending on the route used. The trek offers fantastic views of the Annapurna range, leading us through deep rhododendrons and oak tree woods. Before arriving at our overnight location, we will pass through the Nayapul, Birethanti, and Syauli bazzar settlements and cross the Kimche. Spend the night in a guesthouse in Tadapani.

The next day, we will depart from Bheri Kharka or Tadapani to Dobato at 3426 meters. Before arriving at our destination, the trail leads us through lush bamboo and rhododendron trees and the village of Deurali. The vistas get better and better as we climb, with expansive views of the Dhaulagiri massif and the Annapurna range. Moreover, we’ll visit some of Nepal’s rare and imperiled animals, such as the red panda and snow leopard. We will spend the night in a Dobato guesthouse.

Hike Mulde View Point and trek to Nage Thanti

We will walk up to Muldai View Point on the third day, where we will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Dhaulagiri mountain, the Annapurna range, and the surrounding valleys. The challenging climb takes around two to three hours, but the vistas are well worth the effort. We will hike down to Nage Thanti, situated at an elevation of roughly 2150m, after taking in the views from Muldai View Point. We will have the chance to witness some of Nepal’s uncommon and endangered wildlife as the trail leads through deep rhododendrons and juniper tree woods—a guesthouse in Nage Thanti for the night.

Trek to Hile - Drive to Pokhara

On the fourth and last day of the walk, we will set out from Nage Thanti in search of the settlement of Hile, which is situated at a height of roughly 1400 meters. The route looks into Nepal’s rural way of life as it passes past small villages and terraced farms. After returning in a private jeep from Hile, we will end our Muldai View Point Hiking excursion in Pokhara.

Permits for Muldai View Point Trekking
The Muldai View Point Trekking requires a TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card and an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit). You can obtain the permits from the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or Pokhara through a government-registered trekking agency.
TIMS Card: Trekkers must provide details, itinerary, and emergency contact information. You have to bring your passport and two passport-size photos. The costs are as follows:
- SAARC nationals: NPR 600 for individuals and NPR 300 for group
- Non-SAARC nationals: NPR 1000 for individuals and NPR 2000 for group
ACAP: The trekking trails lie within the Annapurna Conservation Area. Hence, you must obtain an entry permit for the conservation area. The costs are as follows:
