Permits 

To trek Ghorepani Poon Hill, you must obtain the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). While the TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System) was previously necessary, it is no longer required. The ACAP ensures your safety within the trekking region and supports conservation and local development projects. Likewise, you can obtain the permit from Kathmandu (Nepal Tourism Board Office) or Pokhara (Lakeside Permit Office)

The process for obtaining the permit is simple; you will need your passport, two passport-sized photos, and the permit fees. After receiving the permit, you must keep it accessible throughout the trip since there are several checkpoints where officials will check and stamp it as you pass. Additionally, losing it may result in delays or fines, so it is essential to keep it safely in a waterproof pouch. 

Physical Training 

Although the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is beginner-friendly, it still involves uphill climbs, stone staircases, and 4-6 hours of walking each day. So, preparing your body physically for a few weeks before the trek will enhance your strength. For training, we recommend starting with cardiovascular exercises, such as brisk walking, jogging, and cycling. Also, aim for 30-45 minutes of walking at least 3-4 days a week.
