We start the trek from Besi Sahar after a 6-7 hrs drive from Kathmandu. The trail ascends gradually along the Marshyangdi river valley and eventually leads to the village of Pisang where we leave the main trail and head up the Chulu East base camp. Fully physically fit and acclimatized, we then attempt Chulu east. Following an ascent, we rejoin the main trail and head towards Kali Gandaki valley crossing a high Thorung La pass at 5416 meter.

Thereafter, we make final descent to Jomsom and take a flight to Pokhara. The trek provides a great range of landscapes and cultures as we progress from terraced rice fields of Besi Sahar to lush green foothills through alpine forests and barren arid region of the Manang Valley. Along the trekking trail as we walk past fascinating villages, we witness varied cultural settings and ethnic diversity. Most of the climbing will involve walking roped together, including a glacier crossing. Any physically fit individual can undertake this trip anytime in March to May and September to November.

Day 1

After an early breakfast, you hop onto the vehicle that will take you to Besisahar. You drive along the highway and enjoy the scenic views of the lush green hills. From Dumre, you head up to Besisahar. Then, the road starts to get a bit rough. After a long drive of about 6 hours, you finally arrive at Besisahar for the overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you drive towards Chame today. The ride will take around 5 hours in total, with brief rests in between. The vehicle will take you along the scenic hills. The road trip to Chame is rough and dusty as the roads are not well-made. Enjoying the views of the hills and valleys, you arrive at Chame for the overnight stay.

We trek to Upper pisang. A narrow steep path through a very dense pine forest will bring you to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. As the trail opens up you will be surrounded by Himalayan Peaks all the way to Pisang. Climb 30 minutes further then reach Upper pisang. We stay there overnight at lodge.

Leaving the main trail above the village of Pisang, we ascend Chegaji Khola Valley towards Chulu East Base Camp. A gentle ascent through scattered chortens, scrub juniper and stunted pines takes us to the small hamlet of Ngawal .This is sitting on the west bank of the river. We chose an appropriate campsite showcasing enchanting views of majestic Himalayan peaks.  Stay there overnight at tent.

We return to the main trail and head towards Manang. We continue treading along the cultivated fields and after a while village of Braga accommodating a splendid monastery appear before us. On trekking down to Manang, we embrace heavenly vistas of Annapurna range – Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak . We camp at the fortified villages of friendly Manang people for the night. Manang is a fascinating medieval village of just over 500 flat-roofed houses. We stay at Manang overnight at lodge.

Finally, the trip has come to an end, and you say goodbye to the majestic Annapurna range. After breakfast, you board on a tourist bus that will take you back to Kathmandu. The drive through the Prithivi Highway is pleasant as you enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the hills and rivers by late afternoon, you arrive at hotel.

Best time to visit

Chulu East Peak Climbing with Annapurna Circuit Trek is a very long trek. So, it is very important to choose the right time for trekking. Similarly, the best time to visit this place is during the spring and autumn seasons.  During this time of the year, the climate is moderately stable and suitable. Therefore, it can be very helpful for people who want to enjoy the scenery and the surroundings. In addition, if you travel here during this time then you can enjoy a stunning view of Tilicho Peak, Annapurna II and IV, Gangapurna, and the Glacier Dome.  Which can multiply your experience.

Difficulty o this trek

The difficulty level of this trek is moderate. However, it’s a 17-day long trek so it is not for rookie or new trekkers. If you are a new trekker, then you might face the difficulty of altitude sickness. Similarly, you will find some rough roads on your trek. So, make sure you are ready for its challenge. In addition, the landscape of the place is also tough to trek in.

Travel insurance

Personal travel insurance is not included in our tour. so, you have to compulsorily have trekking insurance from your insurance company. Because it has a lot of benefits if something bad happens to you during the trek. It helps you cover your medical expenses, repatriation expenses, rescue mission, loss of property e.t.c. which is very helpful to us to cooperate.

Meals and Accommodation

You provide you Lodge (Twin share basis) accommodation during the trekking. Similarly, all meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) during trekking are also available. The meals and accommodation are also top class. But, we don’t provide Hotel accommodation and meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Hard and soft table drinks such as tea/coffee, Coke, Fanta, mineral water, beer, dessert, battery charge, hot shower, laundry, phone bill, etc. but, can be adjusted according to our consumers’ wish.

Fitness and experience requirement

Chulu East Peak Climbing with Annapurna Circuit trek is a long trek. So, you need to be both physically and mentally fit. In addition, you should have experience climbing small peaks because if you try to climb this peak then it will be difficult for you to complete this trek. So, we recommend you first climb small peaks then come after to climb this peak.in addition, if you decide to do this trek despite your lack of experience then we highly recommend hiring an experienced guide. Furthermore, you should not have any heart and blood-related diseases. Most importantly, you should be very passionate about the trek.

Climate and weather

The climate of Chulu East Peak Climbing with Annapurna Circuit trek is mostly cold but if you travel here during the spring and autumn season, you will find a moderate climate to trek in here. During this time of the year, you can fully enjoy the surroundings in clear visibility. It provides a suitable climate and weather. But, most of the time it is good all year. So, you may do this trek throughout the year.
