Sarangkot Hike Overview

Sarangkot Hike is designed for visitors who either don’t have long enough vacation to walk long in the mountain or have a day extra in Pokhara. A day sarangkot hiking offers a best mountain view with scenic local villages of ethnic people of Nepal people. The trip starts from your hotel early morning 5:00 am while guide will meet and take you to Sarangkot by private vehicle then end in Phew Lake after a short hiking.

It offers a spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges including the Anapurna and Machhapuchhare in clear sky from Dhampus. We will see panoramic views of Annapurna (8091m/ 26,545ft), Dhaulagiri (8167m/ 26,795ft), Machhapuchare (the sacred mountain), Annapurna south( 7240m./23892ft.) and Himchuli( 6440m./21252ft.) including other 10 peaks over 6000 meter. This area also offers you views of the Pokhara Valley with all its natural beauty. Sarangkot is one of the most popular hills renown for seeing the sunrise over the Himalayas.
It is a beautiful morning walk from Sarangkot hill to Few Lake, about 2 hours. You will pass by local villages, terrace and best pokhara view .

Clothing Grear Check List For Sarangkot Hike

When you select your personal items, keep in mind the number of days you will be hiking, the time of year and the altitude. We advise our clients to bring these items:

  • Lightweight hiking boots or sports shoes “walked” them in prior to arrival in Nepal to avoid blisters or sports shoes.
  • Lightweight pants, shirts
  • T-shirts.
  • Long sleeve shirt, if susceptible to sunburn.
  • Water bottle – 2 liters.
  • Small daypack – 25 liters.
  • Down jacket in winter

How Fit Must Sarangkot Hikers Be?

Sarangkot hike is easy,  suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least  2-3 hours with a light rucksack. As we will get the highest elevation of 1600 meters, you won’t have to worry about acute mountain sickness ( AMS) though you are preferred excellent health with average physical fitness then we can accomplish the trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Nepal of alternative treks before booking the hike.

Sarangkot hiking is not a very long hike. The hike ends in a single day. Similarly, the place is open throughout the year. You can visit this place throughout the year. But, you have to avoid rainy days and travel. Therefore the best time to visit this hiking is during monsoon season.
