Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
The Annapurna Circuit Trek lies in the Annapurna Conservation area. This conservation area was established by the government of Nepal in 1992. You also need this permit for the Tsum Valley and Manaslu trek. While trekking in this region, obtaining the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) is essential. Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)
The Conservation area in the Manaslu region is a real gem, offering a variety of unspoiled natural and cultural adventures. To enter this area, you must have a Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP) and other legal documents. You can get this permit at Philim, which is the beginning point of the conservation area. It costs NPR 3000 for foreigners and NPR 1000 for SAARC.
Manaslu Special Permit
The Manaslu Circuit area is a restricted zone, and you cannot travel freely. You must pay fees associated with the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit to explore the region of Manaslu. It is important to obtain these permits while traveling from Jagat to Sama Gaun through an area with multiple villages. The costs of the Manaslu special permit are:
- USD 100 Sept – Nov for 1 week and USD 15 per day for extra days.
- USD 75 Dec-Aug for 1 week and USD 10 per day for extra days.
Tsum Valley Special Permit
You must have a Tsum Valley special permit to trek and enter the Tsum Valley (hidden valley), which is situated inside the Manaslu area. This tranquil and culturally rich valley in the Himalayas offers a unique hiking experience. Costs for the Tsum Valley special permit are:
- USD 40 Sept – Nov for 1 week and USD 7 per day for extra days.
- USD 30 Dec – Aug for 1 week and USD 7 per day for extra days.
