The less trodden Khopra Danda trek
We just came back after a rewarding trek to Khopra ridge (Khopra Danda, as it’s called in Nepal) in the Annapurna region. It’s a less trodden trail in an otherwise highly crowded Annapurna region. It has trails going through traditional villages, pristine forests, leading to wonderful viewpoints of Muldai & Khopra ridge.
Weather played a bit of a spoilsport keeping cloudy which didn’t let us go to Muldai, but Khopra ridge was splendid with panoramic views of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri ranges up close. Rhododendrons were in full bloom at the higher reaches. En-route Khopra from Dobato, the views at Baily pastures with grazing yaks amidst blooming rhododendrons will make you spell bound.
The services of Nepal Alternative treks were as good as the views. It was at the guide’s encouragement, that we went up to Khopra, despite clouds & were rewarded with clear views amidst an otherwise cloudy & gloomy weather.
It’s worth going with them again.
