Krishna Tamang is a licensed trekking guide from Kharsa village in the beautiful Ruby Valley of Dhading, located around 135 km northwest of Kathmandu, Nepal. Born and raised in the village, he later moved to Kathmandu after completing his SLC education and completed his +2 level studies under Tribhuvan University. Krishna started his journey in the trekking industry as a porter in 2019 and became a professional trekking guide in 2020.
To strengthen his professional guiding career, Krishna completed the full “Trekking Guide” training conducted by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation from August 30, 2022 to October 05, 2022. He has also completed Basic Mountaineering Training, 2 Weeks First Aid Training, Environment Sustainable Tourism Practices Training, and Tourism-related Environmental Crime Prevention and Control Training. Krishna has experience guiding trekkers across Nepal’s popular trekking destinations including the Everest Region, Annapurna Region, Langtang Region, Manaslu Region, Makalu Region, and Upper Mustang Region.
Krishna’s greatest passion is introducing travelers to the people, traditions, and landscapes that make Nepal so special. Over the years, he has guided trekkers across many regions of the Himalayas and enjoys helping guests experience not only the mountains but also the local cultures along the way. With his friendly nature and ability to communicate in English, Hindi, and several local languages, Krishna makes it easy for travelers from different backgrounds to feel welcomed and connected throughout their journey.
