Bimal Rai is a licensed professional trekking guide from Nepal, born and raised in Sotang Rural Municipality, Solukhumbu—one of the most beautiful Himalayan regions in the country. Growing up surrounded by mountains, forests, and Sherpa and Rai culture shaped his love for nature, trekking, and adventure. His goal is to give every traveler a safe, enjoyable, and memorable journey while sharing the rich culture and landscapes of Nepal.
Early Life & Background
Bimal was born in Sotang–5, Solukhumbu, where he spent his childhood in a remote mountain community at the heart of the Everest region. Living among towering peaks and traditional mountain villages inspired him to build a career in trekking and tourism.
Education
He completed his Higher Secondary Education (+2) at Birendra Jyoti Secondary School, Sotang–5, Solukhumbu.
Alongside his formal education, he developed a strong interest in tourism, hospitality, and communication—skills that later motivated him to become a professional trekking guide.
Professional Journey
Bimal began his career in the trekking industry as a porter in 2022. Over several seasons in the mountains, he gained hands-on experience in trekking operations, mountain safety, teamwork, and client care.
To strengthen his professional skills, he successfully completed Government Licensed Trekking Guide Training from 5 January to 13 February 2025, conducted under the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM).
After completing the training, he became a licensed trekking guide (License No. 22819) and has been committed to providing safe, responsible, and high-quality guiding services ever since.
