Swastika Pariyar is a professional female trekking guide from Rupakot-05, Kaski, near Pokhara in Gandaki Province. She was born and raised about 20 kilometers from Pokhara, close to Rupa Lake, Phewa Lake, and Begnas Lake, with views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. After completing her Secondary Education Examination (SEE) at 17, she moved to Pokhara for higher studies and to start her career in tourism. She is a friendly, fluent English-speaking guide who enjoys sharing Nepal’s nature and culture with trekkers.
Trekking Career
Swastika started her trekking career as a porter in 2021. Her first trek was a teahouse trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Working as a porter taught her about mountain life, culture, teamwork, and endurance. After two years, she began guiding selected routes in 2023 and soon became a full-time professional trekking guide.
Training & Certifications
She completed Trekking Guide Training with the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation from 7 July to 26 July 2023. She has also completed Bird Identification Training (3 days) and First Aid Training (2 weeks).
Trekking Regions
She has guided in the Everest Region, Annapurna Region, Manaslu Region, Langtang Region, and Kanchenjunga and Upper Mustang areas. She also guides in destinations such as Ruby Valley, Tamang Heritage, and Api Himal.
Favorite Trekking Routes
Her favorite trails are in the Annapurna Region. Growing up near Pokhara, she knows these routes well and enjoys leading both short and long treks in the area.
