Ghorepani Poon hill 5 days trek

We had initially chosen another agency-Nepal Eco adventure but received a very rude response from its MD after asking him about the guide’s licenses and informing him of our insurer’s terms. We are glad that we ended up going with Nepal Alternative Treks, as Mr Tej Gurung is responsive to all our queries and concerns, which are aplenty since this is our first time trekking in Nepal. We were assigned Ammer Gurung as our guide for the 5 days’ trek and we couldn’t be more happy with Ammer’s services. Ammer is responsible, alert, knowledgeable, and showed concerns for our safety-he broke our falls a few times, as the rocks were slippery. He was also very patient as we had told him at the start of the trek that we had to take it slow as we are not very physically fit. He told us to take our time and always ensured that we had enough to eat and drink. We also had pretty good tea house accommodation especially in ghorepani and Gandruk. The food at Hotel Robin in Gandruk was excellent; do try the chicken sizzler! Our porter (Sudeep/Thardra? Didn’t really managed to get his name) was also excellent. Although he couldn’t converse much in English, he was always ready to help and always ensured that our accommodation was ready and comfortable when we arrived. We called him superman for his energy and speed. 🙂
All in all, Nepal Alternative Treks is a fantastic agency to book with if you are planning on trekking in Nepal. We will definitely choose them again for future treks!
